Continuing a tradition that has been repeating for some years, on Sunday 29th May the fourth edition of “IL BORGO DEI SAPORI” (the village of taste) will take place in Mombaruzzo. Wine is the main actor of the meeting: the guests could visit the wine cellars, know the protagonists of the wine production, get used to the processes of wine-making and aging as well as taste the excellent wines of the Company, among which we would like to remember Mora di Sassi, Barbera d’Asti Superiore Nizza doc 2001, awarded the “Due Bicchieri rossi” (Two Red Glasses) and Col dei Ronchi, classic method sparkling wine based on Gavi. Beside wine, art occupies a relevant place: part of private collections of sketches drown by famous cartoonists are exhibited in the rooms of the company (section “Satire and Wine”); Giorgio Bava will present his pictures taken between Langa and Monferrato, while Bruna Chiarle will show her artistic glasses. There will be also the opportunity to taste and buy the typical local products: macaroon of Mambaruzzo, meats and salami of Nizza Monferrato, robiole (cheese) of Roccaverano and many other specialities. Cost of the participation to the event: 5 euro including tasting, glass and pocket Spiegelau. Azienda Vitivinicola Nervi: tasting Molsino 2000 Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th May from 10.00 to 19.00 Also this year the Azienda Vitivinicola Nervi takes part with pleasure and enthusiasm in “Invitation to the open cellars”, the event organising the visit of the best cellars for the admirers of good wine. There will be the possibility to discover the secrets of the wine production and particularly the production of the red wine Gattinara, pride of Piemonte’s oenology; it will be possible to go around the rooms of Nervi (nineteenth century) and to breathe the atmosphere of the most ancient and best preserved cellars in the wine production area of North Piemonte; in addition to that, this year there is a special reason to be present at the event, i.e. the opportunity to taste the extraordinary red wine Gattinara D.O.C.G. Vigneto Molsino 2000. This wine is the result of a very rigorous selection of both soil and grapes, produced only in small quantities but well known in Italy and worldwide; it is the most prestigious and representative Cru of Azienda Vitivinicola Nervi. Therefore on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th May in additional to the other Nervi’s wines the guests could taste and appreciate the vintage 2000 of Gattinara Molsino, a special rare wine comparable to very few similar wines of the last decades; for this reason it has been awarded the prestigious prize “Tre bicchieri” (three glasses), assigned by the Italian Wine Guide 2005, issued by Gambero Rosso and Slow Food. |
