The town of Gattinara is situated in the North-East
area of Piemonte, in the county of Vercelli at the foot of Valsesia.
It is easy to reach, as it is only 7 km away from the exit "Romagnano
Sesia - Ghemme" of the motorway A26.
In 1967
GATTINARA awarded the denomination D.O.C (Controlled Denomination
of Origin): it was one of the first wines which received this
denomination and in 1990 awarded the status D.O.C.G. (Controlled
and Certified Denomination of Origin).
Certainly, it is not a wine for everybody. In fact the restrictive
disciplinary measures for the recognition of DOCG status (Controlled
and Certified Denomination of Origin) determine the production
of a unique, inimitable, binding and very precious wine.
