NAME OF VINEYARD: The “Podere dei Ginepri”(The Estate of Junipers) is named after the Estate owned by Nervi. This vineyard is located on the right side  of that of Molsino cru at 300 metres elevation with southern, south western exposure. The plants are approx. 30 years old, with a vine density of approx. 4,300 vines per hectare cultivated according to the “Guyot” method.

GRAPES: Nebbiolo 100%.

YIELD PER HECTAR: 40 hl

AGEING: 3 years in casks of Slavonian oak, in 700-litre tonneaux and 225-litre barriques followed by 1 year refining in bottle before marketing it.

ALCOHOL CONTENT: 13.5% vol.

COLOUR: Bright dark garnet coloured with a slight brick shade.

BOUQUET: Fine, delicate with scent of violets and red fruits, hint of coffee and cacao with a spiced finish.


FLAVOUR: Full and balanced, with a firm mineral note; it has an excellent delicate tannic structure and the typical bitter finish of Nebbiolo.

TASTING TEMPERATURE: 16/18 ° C.

STORAGE: Bottle has to be stored horizontally, in a dry place, avoid light vibrations and heat; storage temperature 12 – 15 °C.

TO BE SERVED WITH: Better when served with red meats and game, with hard-grained or fermented cheese; it is a perfect wine after meal and for meditation.


VINIFICATION: Nebbiolo grapes are harvested only when full ripening has been reached towards the middle of October,  destemmed without crushing the raisins, and turned into wine in oak vats for 12/15 days with several pump over per day for the best colour extraction.

This is an outstanding, harmonic and well-balanced wine, of the highest quality. It is vinified exclusively from the vineyards that stand out as the best production area for microclimate, position and composition of the soil .

Thanks to the state-of-the-heart  technologies of vinification and a careful fermentation process the “Podere dei Ginepri” is an exclusive  wine, worth being a part of the great tradition of the territory of Gattinara.
