TOTAL YEARLY PRODUCTION: selected, small quantity: 20.000 bottles.
PRODUCTION AREA: Nebbiolo hillside vineyards owned by NERVI, in the territory of the town Gattinara. Other vineyards located on the hills of the appellation D.O.C. COSTE DELLA SESIA
GRAPES: ROSSO: min. 50% Nebbiolo; 50% Bonarda, Vespolina and Croatina.
SPANNA: min. 85% Nebbiolo; 15% Bonarda, Vespolina and Croatina.
YIELD PER HECTARE: 40/50 hl max.
AGEING: Minimum ageing 6 months in Slavonian oak casks.
ALCOHOL CONTENT: 11,5 - 12%.
COLOUR: Garnet coloured turning to a brick shade when aged.
BOUQUET: Fine, floral and fruity.
FLAVOUR: Dry, full bodied with typical Nebbiolo aroma.
TASTING TEMPERATURE: 18 - 20° C.
STORAGE: Bottle has to be stored horizontally in a dry place, avoid light vibrations and heat; storage temperature 12 - 15°C.


TO BE SERVED WITH: Coste della Sesia is an ideal match for salami, risotto and red meats.
VINIFICATION: Soft pressing, alcoholic fermentation at controlled temperature
(28° C max.), short maceration.

This wine is a blend of Nebbiolo with other indigenous grape varietals from the North-Eastern Piemonte, it shows character, structure and very good harmony. In the case of outstanding vintages the "ROSSO" becomes "SPANNA" with a different percentage blend of grapes and a longer ageing, up to three years.
